IVF is the process of combining eggs and sperm in a laboratory. Once the embryos form they are put in the uterus. It is a complex and expensive process.

What is the procedure?

IVF is one of the popular types of assisted reproductive technology (ART).  It involves a combination of medicines and surgical procedures so that it helps the sperm to fertilize an egg and getting the fertilized egg implanted in the uterus. First, the doctor prescribes some medicines so that many of your eggs would be matured and keep you ready for fertilization. Then, the IVF specialist will take out the egg from your body and will mix them with the sperm in the lab, and allow the sperm to fertilize the eggs. Then the doctor will put one or more fertilized eggs in the uterus through the surgical procedure.
